Testing & Supplements

Testing can help in the search for clues...

Nutritional therapists are fully qualified and trained to undertake a wide range of functional tests.  These can provide deeper insight into how the systems of the body are functioning and give us more “clues” in our search for optimum nutrition and health.

Examples of tests include:

  • Gut & Microbiome

  • Infections

  • Metabolic Markers

  • Neurotransmitter Markers

  • Genetic Testing e.g. Methylation Status

  • Hormone Testing – Male & Female Hormone Status

  • Nutrient Status, including Vitamin D, Essential Fatty Acids & Minerals

I am registered with a number of UK based reputable testing companies who also provide post testing support.

Food first..but supplements can be helpful

I like to work with a “food first” approach as I believe that nature usually is the best place to start and can provide us with everything we need. However, supplements can be helpful for people with long standing deficiencies or when an optimal diet cannot be maintained.  Supplements may only be suggested on a short term basis to give your body a helping hand on its way back to balance.

Which supplements?

There is a huge array of supplements available, both online and in shops. However, it can be that the cheaper products are of a lesser quality because they contain additives that aren’t helpful to your body in trying to absorb the supplement. I recommend supplements available through the Natural Dispensary and you will receive a discount. I also have access to practitioner support with supplement companies to discuss individual cases to ensure the supplements are appropriate and effective for your individual needs.
